Family Dollar recalls Colgate products after being improperly stored : NPR

Family Dollar said it is recalling certain Colgate toothpastes sold in 11 states because the products were stored outside of recommended temperature requirements.
In one recall notice According to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the affected items affect Colgate’s Optic White toothpaste and mouthwash.
According to the agency, the products were sold in Arizona, California, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Montana, New Mexico, Nevada, Oregon, Texas, and Utah on or about May 1 through June 21.
The recall notice did not specify at what temperature the products were stored or for how long.
This month’s recall news is an expansion of an earlier recall announcement published by Family Dollar early this summer. According to the FDA.
Dollar Tree, Inc., the parent company of the Family Dollar chain, did not respond to NPR’s request for comment on the recall.
Family Dollar said the company notified affected stores of the product, asked them to check stock and immediately stop selling the toothpaste and mouthwash.
People who may have purchased the recalled products can return them to the Family Dollar store where they were purchased without a receipt, according to the FDA.
In July, the grocery chain recalled nearly 400 over-the-counter products, including toothpaste, lip balm, lotion, condoms, deodorant, and more. stores between May and mid-June, are also stored at inappropriate temperatures.
