The witness said he chased the car with his bicycle

A witness to the Kanjhawala incident in Delhi, where a 20-year-old girl was killed after her scooter was hit and dragged for several kilometers by a car on Sunday, recounted the horrific incident.
Deepak Dahiya runs a confectionery shop on Kanjhawala Road in Ladpur village.

He said the defendant dragged the girl’s body that was entangled in their car for 18 to 20 kilometers and lasted about an hour and a half.

“It was 3:20… I was standing outside the store when I heard a loud noise from a car about 100 meters away. At first I thought it was a tire blow. When the car was moving, I saw a body. being dragged. . I informed the police immediately,” Dahiya told ANI.

Moments later, he said, around 3:30 a.m., the car turned around and the woman’s body was still stuck under the car. Dahiya said the defendant drove continuously on the road about 4-5 km by making a U-turn.

“I tried many times to stop the car, but they did not stop the car. About an hour and a half later, they carried the girl’s body about 20 km,” he said.

Dahiya said he also chased the car with his bicycle and contacted the police.

After about an hour and a half, the body fell from the car near the village of Jyoti on Kanjhawala Road, after which the defendant fled, he said.

“It can’t just be an accident,” Dahiya insisted.

Speaking to ANI, Harendra Kumar Singh, Deputy Commissioner of Delhi Suburban Police, said that at the time of the incident, the girl had fallen from the car and was dragged for a long distance under the vehicle. The police arrested the accused based on the registered license plate number.

“The defendants told police that the car windows were closed and the music was playing loud so they didn’t know… When they found out, they fled the scene,” the DCP said.

A 20-year-old girl was killed after being hit by a car and dragged several kilometers down the road, getting entangled in a wheel, police said on Sunday.

Police said the girl’s condition after the incident was very bad, after being dragged, her clothes and even the back of her body were ripped off.

The head of the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) Swati Maliwal is also aware of the problem and has informed the Delhi police.

“The naked body of a girl was found in Delhi’s Kanjhawala, it is said that some boys in a drunken state hit her scooter and dragged her several kilometers by car. . This matter is very dangerous, I am giving summons to Delhi Police. The whole truth will be revealed,” she wrote on Twitter.

Speaking to ANI, she also alleged that the five men in the vehicle were drunk.

“A very disturbing incident happened. A girl was hit by a car and then dragged on the road. The car was driven by 5 drunk people. I summoned the Delhi Police to ask how it was done. to be fair to the girl Second, I want to ask that even though the girl was dragged for kilometers, none of the checkpoints caught anything. No one stopped those drunks. It’s very scary and shocking,” she said.

A PCR call was received at Kanjhwala police station early Sunday morning that a car was discovered with a body dragged with it. Another PCR call was received at 4:11 am, about a girl’s body lying on the street.

The police then notified officers deployed at the posts and a search operation for the vehicle was launched.

The girl’s body was sent to SGM hospital, Mangolpuri, where she was pronounced dead. The body is kept at the hospital morgue.

Meanwhile, the suspected vehicle has also been traced and five occupants have been arrested from their homes.
