Extensive search for man who ‘fell into water’ in Edinburgh | UK News



A search operation has been launched for a man believed to have fallen into the water in Edinburgh.

Emergency services are now searching for the man after police were called at 11:25pm on Friday to Victoria Quay near one of the Scottish government office buildings.

Police Scotland launched an “extensive search” for the man, along with teams from the ambulance and fire service and the HM Coast Guard.

A spokesman for Police Scotland said: “At around 11:25pm on Friday 3 February, police were called to reports that a man had fallen into the Victoria Quay basin, Victoria Quay, Leith, Edinburgh.

“The man is still being sought despite an extensive search involving police, Scotland’s Fire and Rescue Service, Scotland Ambulance Service and the Coast Guard.

“The search will continue this morning and will also include officers from specialist search teams.”
