ExpressVPN’s Lightway Protocol Passes Second Test With Flying Colors
One of the Best VPN surrounding service, ExpressVPN recently demonstrated some serious commitment to user privacy and security.
The vendor called two independent audit firms last spring to summer to check the reliability of its desktop applications during three security checks. Soon after, a separate check also demonstrated the security of its software just one iPhone VPN And Android VPN along with the reliability of its own password manager ExpressVPN key.
Now, with constant efforts for transparency, experts at Healing53 was called to evaluate ExpressVPN’s very own Lightway protocol for the second time in two years.
Although there were some minor bugs that the vendor said were fixed, Cure53 was pleased with the findings that were “positive results” overall.
Twelve independent audits in a year
“With this latest review, ExpressVPN has completed and published 12 third-party audits in the past year alone – covering all desktop and mobile apps, permissions policies, and more. privacy and our key technologies,” an ExpressVPN spokesperson told TechRadar.
“This also means that we have published more audit reports than anyone else in the VPN industry, adding to the credibility and transparency of our services.”
This time it’s ExpressVPN Highway to be tested, the open source VPN protocol that the provider has developed from the ground up.
Tests were conducted by Cure53 between October and November 2022. Experts evaluated all components of the protocol, including the Lightway server and client, as well as the libraries. shared, by both penetration testing and dedicated source code testing. Cure53 identified a total of nine issues. Of these, only three are classified as low-exploit security vulnerabilities.

“Based on a combination of factors, namely comprehensive coverage, small number of findings, and absence of high-impact issues, it can be concluded that this Cure53 review of components ExpressVPN Lightway gives good results.”
The experts also reported good accessibility and communication throughout the review period, noting how the ExpressVPN team provided quick and excellent responses whenever requested.
Even better, the vendor is said to have fixed all the issues and these were checked by Cure53 in February 2023.
