Explained: How Sony is trying to improve PlayStation games on PC

Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered, along with other games coming later this year, is slated to release for PlayStation as well as for PC. To improve PlayStation games on PC, Sony recently introduced a new section on the PlayStation website. This latest installment is exclusively for PlayStation games available on PC.
However, according to a report by PlayStationLifestyle, some wording on the new section of the PlayStation website suggests that PSN Account integration may be coming to PC soon. The PlayStation for PC games section of the site also lists all available games, such as God of War, Days Gone, and Horizon Zero Dawnas well as titles that have been announced for release this year, the report mentions.
What is a PSN account?
PlayStation Network (PSN) is a digital entertainment service primarily designed for the PlayStation console. Users can use their PSN account to download games to play as well as stream apps to watch TV and movies. PC users can create an account by going to Sony Entertainment Network.

How PSN Accounts Can Improve PlayStation Games on PC
According to the report, the PlayStation for PC games section of Sony’s website also has an FAQ section, where one of the questions asks whether players need a PSN account to play PlayStation games on PC. The answer provided by the website is: “No, you do not currently need a PSN account to enjoy PlayStation Studios games on PC.”
The report suggests that the word “currently” is confusing, and the wording seems to imply that a PSN account requirement to play PlayStation games on PC could be introduced in the coming days.
This change will help players earn trophies when playing games like Spider-Man on PC. Instead of receiving achievements on Steam, players will be rewarded with PS titles for playing PlayStation games. PSN accounts are also supposed to allow players to communicate with their PSN friends while playing the game.

In addition, these accounts may also have other important features like – cross-play and cross-save between other accounts. However, the report says that the cross-play feature will only be available if Sony decides to bring its multiplayer titles to PC. Furthermore, Sony may also be working on its PC game launcher, the report suggests.
On the other hand, recently, Microsoft accused Sony of paying game developers “right to block” to prevent their games from being included in Xbox Game Pass. Furthermore, current rumors suggest that the PS5 console may soon have a dedicated app that has long been missing.
