The woman got sick and later found out she had HIV.

It was not until a week after the doctor examined him that he admitted his HIV diagnosis. Although he received the news in 2019, it is believed he did not begin treatment until 2022 – the same day he went to the doctor with the woman.

She eventually went to the authorities, who accessed his medical records and confirmed the diagnosis in 2019. For now, the woman responsible for Lacour’s behind bars is continuing her diagnosis but she is living a contented life and taking medication.
