A BTEC exam board told students it was “sorry” that they were still waiting for their results, making it impossible for them to confirm their university place.
Hundreds of thousands of students received their A-level, BTEC and T-level results on Thursday.
But some people in England and Wales who have taken the BTEC (Business and Technology Education) certification with the Pearson exam board have had no news of their scores.
Pearson said it was not a “systemic” issue that caused the delay, but rather individual schools or universities affected.
It says the exact number of students still waiting is unknown but represents only a “small percentage”, adding the number is “all the time” as results are announced hourly. .
Francesca, 19, from Lancashire, told the PA news agency that “half of [her] whole class” did not receive results on Thursday.
“It was definitely stressful, I’m autistic so I struggled with waiting for results and getting ready for college – so it definitely made the pressure worse.”
She took an applied science course with Pearson and required two merit and one pass to be accepted into the human physiology course at Manchester Metropolitan University.
She said the university had assured her it would hold her ground.
A Pearson spokesperson said: “We regret that some students are still waiting for their results. BTECS is a modular qualification and in order for us to award overall results we are asking for it to be provided. points for each post and claim. to receive the degree.”
They said the team was working all weekend to get the results out as soon as possible, and thanked schools and colleges for working “around the clock”.

“UCAS has told us that the best thing a student can do is contact the university of their choice directly, so they know they want a place on offer and can keep it. Or we were happy to call their university to have them explain the situation,” added a Pearson spokesperson.
A spokesman for UCAS, the admissions service for higher education institutions in the UK, said: “Universities are used to the management. [delays] in their processes, and we are working with the awarding agencies to ensure all students can receive a decision on their application.
“UCAS advises that universities will keep their offer of admission until September 7, so any students who have not received their admission results have time to respond to this. Students can also do so. free to begin research explicitly if they wish.”
Education Secretary James Cleverly said on Twitter students should be “assured that UCAS has asked universities to hold students in this position”.
Shadow Education Secretary and Labor MP for Chesterfield Toby Perkins accused the “zombie government” of letting students down.
“Children need to catch this quickly and exam boards need to be honest and open about what is going on,” he said.
