Dwayne has been in talks to play Black Adam for a decade, and originally planned to have Black Adam and Shazam go head-to-head in a movie. After pulling out of the original project, Dwayne urged Warner Bros. offers Black Adam his own movie.
“When the first draft of the film came to us, it was a combination of Black Adam and Shazam: Two origin stories in one movie,” said The Rock. Joining Black Adam in this movie will be members of the Justice League of America, the first team of superheroes in the comics (JSA predates the Justice League of America by about 20 years.) Regular JSA cooperate with Shazam. So it makes sense that they would participate Black Adam.
Additional cast includes Pierce Brosnan as Doctor Fate, an archaeologist who controls magic through his mystical helmet; Aldis Hodge as Hawkman, the leader of the JSA, who flies with magical metal hawk wings; Quintessa Swindel like Cyclone, who can control the wind and make sounds; and Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher, a man who can change his size and strength by manipulating his molecular structure. Jaume Collet-Serra is the director of Black Adam. He has directed horror movies before such as Orphan and The Shallows. Black Adam is being produced by New Line Cinema, DC Films, Seven Bucks Productions and FlynnPictureCo. Warner Bros. Pictures is distributing the film.

Black Adam is a sub version of 2019 Shazam!. The sequel to the movie, Shazam! Fury of the Godswas announced with a December 2022 release date. Zachary Levi is currently not in the cast of the series. Black AdamI mean this movie maybe setting up a potential clash between Shazam and Black Adam in Fury of the Gods.
The film will also continue to build on the DC Extended Universe of the movies. Suicide Squadlaunch in 2021, and 2023 The Flash and Aquaman 2 is part of the DCEU. Previous movies include Man of Steel, Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, Wonder Woman, Birds of Prey, and Justice League by Zach Snyder.
