The weekend was planned over three months, with Anant’s mother, Nita, recruiting Indian designers Manish Malhotra to become the creative director of the event.
A nine-page dress code for various events was reportedly shared with guests ahead of the weekend, including a “jungle fever” look guide for an event related to the animal rescue organization Ambani founded, with invitees instructed to wear their best animal prints and comfortable shoes. To help attendees look their best, hair and makeup artists were on site, as were Indian fabric designers. A cocktail party on the first night, for example, featured theme “evening in everland”. Days before the guests arrived, the families provided meals to their community, feeding 51,000 people and sharing their wealth with their neighbors. One memorable venue included a glass palace built for the event, meant to resemble the Brooklyn Botanic Garden’s Palm House, complete with a miniature train that guests could ride. After Rihanna’s performance, the couple stayed until 7 a.m., Radhika said.
“I want to be happy, free and young,” she said. Fashion. “An Indian wedding is incomplete without dancing.”
The head of the Ambani family is no stranger to throwing parties: In 2018, When Isha’s daughter got married, He threw another star-studded pre-wedding party, this time featuring performances by Beyoncé. “It is a retreat for people who have contributed to our lives in many different ways,” Radhika recounts Fashion“We have people from six months old to 90 years old.”
