‘Every day we live our lives in fear’ under Taliban rule


Despite their promises, the current Taliban regime is worse than the one that took power in the 1990s, an Afghan women’s rights activist told the BBC.

Tooba Ataei told Yalda Hakim from BBC World News that women in the country are living in fear and shock because they are not allowed to work or go to school.

The Taliban took power in Afghanistan in August 2021.
