Eurosilver passed away at the age of 21 in South Korea


Eurosilver an Unbridled’s Song 2nd grade winning son, passed away on September 13 in South Korea, where he has stood since the 2015 breeding season.

A crossbreed of Buckram Oak Farm, Eurosilver won the 2003 Lane Final Breeder title (G1) in 2nd place and Skipping Handicap (G3) in 4th place. It also includes finishing in second place in the Stephen Foster Handicap (G1), Swale Shares (G3), and Perryville Shares. He retired with a 4-4-0 record in 12 starts and earned $622,310.

The stallion entered the farm at Dromoland Ranch in Central Kentucky when the late Gerry Dilger launched a stallion division. He stood at Dromoland for 5 seasons before Dilger and his partners moved Eurosilver to Penn Ridge Farms in Pennsylvania, where he stood for another 5 years. Eurosilver was finally exported to Korea in July 2014.

As a stallion, Eurosilver selected 202 winners from 285 starters, including 9 black winners and one Korean champion. His best runners include 2010 winner Miesque Stakes (G3T) Neversaidiwassweet and a big bet winner Euro Platinum and Wild Jacob . His daughter Gippeumnuri was purchased for $15,000 by SROA at the 2009 Ocala Breeders’ 2 Year Spring Sale and went on to be named a full 2 ​​year old Korean import champion in that year.

The descendants of Eurosilver have made more than 12.1 million dollars. His biggest earner is a double-sided campaigner Silver Sashay who didn’t win the bet but won 15 out of 47 starts and made $390,185.
