Eubank Jr Vs. Benn may be punished by the Luxembourg Boxing Federation

Via Jack Tiernan: The Luxembourg Boxing Federation may be the organization to sanction the match between Chris Eubank Jr and Conor Benn this Saturday after the BBBoF decided to ban the competition due to Conor testing positive for VADA.

In 2012, the Luxembourg Boxing Federation sanctioned a fight between David Haye and Derek Chisora. Advertiser Eddie Hearn said Benn’s model B will not be revealed at the time of the fight this Saturday.

It’s not clear why it took so long to open the B model, as Benn’s testing took place last August.

There will be a lot of upset boxing fans, assuming they now consider Benn dirty and likely still allowed to fight.

“Conor Benn will make his own statement,” Eddie Hearn told iFL TV when asked why Conor Benn tested positive for banned substances.

“As you can imagine in previous situations when people were supposed to be innocent, he wanted to go through the process himself. He wants to talk to the media.

“The substance is not listed as a performance enhancing drug, certainly not in the levels found in him. The Boxing Control Board did not suspend Conor Benn. They really can’t.

“Is it delaying the war? Is the war going on? Final, Conor Benn will not be suspended because he passed all UKAD tests in this regard, it is the governing body that the Board of Directors uses to make their decisions,” Hearn said.

Eddie did not say why Benn failed the VADA tests and still passed the UKAD tests. Is the testing method of the two drug testing agencies different? Is this better than the others?

“He is ready to fight now, but the Board obviously has to feel comfortable. That won’t happen before the war,Hearn said when asked if he is waiting for the Model B for Benn to be revealed.

“In the end, the Board and the attorneys will talk, and will come to a decision on what the process is, what the options are. Conor Benn and Chris Eubank Jr had all the medical advice on the samples and all the information.

“They want to fight, but ultimately people have to be comfortable with that. I respect the British Boxing Control Board. I think they do a great job.
