Spence will consider adding a third welterweight championship belt to his profile when he returns to fight at AT&T Stadium in front of his hometown fans for the third time.

Ticket for the April 16 live event at AT&T Stadium, promoted by the TGB Promotion and the Man Down Promotion, is now on sale and can be purchased at SeatGeek.com, the Principal Ticket Provider of AT&T Stadium.

Spence hosted his media workout at the World Class Boxing Gym alongside longtime trainer Derrick James. The workout was streamed live on the SHOWTIME Sports YouTube Channel.

Here’s what Spence and James had to say:

ERROL SPENCE JR.

“I’m feeling good and I’m ready to go. This layoff was easier for me after the injury than it was after the accident because it put so much less stress on my body. Mentally, I also prepared for what I was about to go through. I was back in training before camp started for this fight so I was ready.

“Even half of me would beat most of these guys at the highest level. Now I feel great and I am 100%. Physically, I’m stable and everything is really normal. If Ugas’s coach (Ismael Salas) thinks I’m a different fighter now, we’ll see in two and a half weeks how different I am.

“The training camp has been fantastic. I had great associates and we were focused. I saw a dietitian and it made it much easier for me to lose weight.

“I have everything in my arsenal. Whatever Ugas brings, I’m ready for it. I will command speed and control everything. I’m making him fight my war.

“From what I have seen, Ugas is very physical and very tough. He’s waving Shawn Porter forward, so you know he has a fighting spirit inside of him.

“I had to do a lot of work and I was not worried about my eyes at all. It really feels stronger than the other. I’m just making sure I’m absolutely right with everything.

“I don’t want to say anything to the rest of the team. I will deliver my message with my performance. When I have three belts, everyone will know what that means.

“I watched the Ugas vs Manny Pacquiao match live but I haven’t watched it since. I think that fight is more because Pacquiao is a shell of himself.

“I have been looking forward to this fight ever since I had to leave the Pacquiao fight. I knew I was going to fight the winner, and now I have Ugas in front of me. He’s a tough champion who’s been through a lot in his life.

“I can’t sit back and fight a decent war right now. I want to go straight in with the sharks. Ugas will push me to another level and that’s what I want. I knew that if I struggled with the adjustment, I might sneak in late-night snacks and the like. I’m fighting someone on my level.

“Ugas is living the ‘American Dream’ and he wants to continue living the ‘American Dream. His challenge is beating me and I want his belt.

“Those Mexican fans are a huge part of Texas and I love fighting in front of them. I’m planning on giving them the cool fighting style they love. “

DERRICK JAMES, Coach of Spence

“The camp is great. Errol is working hard and looking strong. We’ve had some very fast, very responsive and physical partners. They’re keeping him on their toes and when he doesn’t get to 100%, they’ll let him know it.

“I think the only difference with Errol between Shawn Porter and Danny Garcia is the strategy and fighting style he is using. Errol is doing great. We haven’t even thought about the eye. It is not a problem.

“Errol knew this fight was coming, so he trained for months and was mentally prepared.

“I never thought about a match against a coach but I am very excited to play against a great coach. He took out Manny Pacquiao so we’ll be 100% ready.

“Being able to let Errol fight at the AT&T stadium is a great thing because it just shows his progress and maturity as a fighter. For a young boxer like Errol, it was a dream come true. We cannot wait.

“Aside from the fight, the walk in the ring at AT&T Stadium was the best part of the fight. Going out there and being hugged and kissed by fans like that is crazy. It will be a special moment on April 16.

“You will see Errol in top form in this fight. He’s here to take care of business. We don’t take Ugas for granted. He’s very smart and has a great angle. We will train skill for skill. There is a real prize to be gained in this one. “
