A civil lawsuit filed Tuesday in Los Angeles Superior Court by a 22-year-old woman on behalf of her and her brother accuses popular actor, comedian and author Tiffany Haddish and Comedian Aries Spears sexually abused the plaintiff when they were both minors. .

Filed using the pseudonyms “Jane Doe” and “John Doe” (brother, born 2007, still a minor), the lawsuit alleging Haddish and Spears prepared for the plaintiffs young people and force them to “shoot child pornographic skits.”

The plaintiffs allege that they were introduced to Haddish and Spears through their mother. The lawsuit describes Haddish as “a longtime family friend.”

The lawsuit reads, “Haddish and Spears took advantage and robbed the youth of a 7-year-old child and a 14-year-old child.”

The lawsuit highlights two separate incidents of alleged sexual abuse of minors, both of which took place in Los Angeles. Jane Doe alleges entertainers pressured her to imitate the character in a 2013 video. The lawsuit also alleges that John Doe was coerced to appear in a pornographic video in his underwear. and the 2014 film features both Haddish and Spears.

The video “Through the Eyes of a Pedophile” has been included on the comedy video website Funny Or Die and other sites on the web.

“Funny Or Die finds this video absolutely disgusting and will never produce such content,” a company spokesperson said in a statement shared with NPR. “We were not involved in the ideation, development, sponsorship or production of this video. The video was uploaded to the site as user-generated content and was removed in 2018 shortly after learning of the incident. existence of video.”

In a statement shared with NPR via email, Andrew Brettler, Haddish’s attorney, dismissed the plaintiff’s claims against his client as “bogus”. Brettler said the plaintiff’s mother had been trying to discredit Haddish with these accusations for several years.

“Every lawyer who initially took on her case – and there are some – eventually let go of the matter once it became clear that the claims were futile and that Miss Haddish would not be shaken. Now. , [she] have her eldest daughter represent her in this case. Together, the two of them will face the consequences of pursuing this frivolous act.”

Spears’ attorney, Debra Opri, responded to NPR’s request for comment with a line regarding her client’s response to the allegations: “He won’t fall for any takedowns. .”

In an email sent to NPR from “Jane Doe,” the plaintiff noted that Haddish’s attorney Brettler had “built his career” on representing famous people related to sexual assault cases. “We are not surprised that Mr Brettler will try to divert attention away from the legal claims my brother and I filed, to shift the blame and attention to our mother, who is not a party to this lawsuit.”

Jane Doe said in addition to the civil lawsuit filed this week, she and her brother are calling on the Los Angeles Police Department to charge these artists. “We hope that the LAPD will eventually act and immediately arrest both Tiffany Haddish and Aries Spears.”
