Jonny Bairstow continued her phenomenal summer with 90 from 53 balls while Moeen Ali scored England’s record 16-fifty goal as Jos Buttler’s side beat sloppy South Africa 234 -6 on the way to a 41-time win in an incredible opening match at Bristol.
Bairstow followed four tests of hundreds of excitement over five innings in matches against New Zealand and India with six T20 international knockouts as England reached the second-highest total T20 score of all time, just 241- 3 against New Zealand in Napier in 2019.
South Africa had a great chase with 21-year-old Tristan Stubbs (72 of 28) hitting 19 balls in half a century and eight six after Reeza Hendricks beat 57 balls from 33 in contest running in the southwest.
But the holidaymakers finished 193-8 with Chris Jordan’s three 18th runs all but dashing South Africa’s hopes – they needed 51 from 12 balls later – before the glittering inning of Stubbs finished with a two-goal 19th start. from Richard Gleeson (3-51).
Bairstow is England’s top scorer, the eight-six-and-three-four-legged club amid a staggering four-fold drop by Proteas – Henrich Klaasen (twice), Rilee Rossouw and Hendricks offense sides – and shared a riotous stand of 106 from 37 balls with history-making Moeen.
Moeen (52 of 18) cut a total of six six-goal balls – the last of which took him to a half-century-breaking record – with his three-ball max being won more balls in 33 innings than with Andile Phehlukwayo (1- 63 from four passes) being destroyed by the left-hander and Bairstow in form.
Phehlukwayo delivered a total of five or six balls in that match – Bairstow started it off by throwing balls in a row into the stands – with England innings having a maximum of 20 balls, all counted as shooters Tabraiz Shamsi (0-49 from three) and Stubbs (0-20 from one) also went away.
Lungi Ngidi led 5–39 in the midst of the carnage, with England captain Jos Buttler (22 to 7) brilliantly trampled by South Africa captain David Miller brilliantly for a long time in the game – that was the highlight for sure. sure of a dismal combat effort from tourists.
One wary fan showed South Africa how that should be done when he caught a six Moeen pulled on square feet on an evening that Dawid Malan (43 years 23) also opened fire for a ferocious Britain.
