At 75, Elton John looked in good shape as he brought his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour to Soldier Field in Chicago on Friday.
The legendary British tennis player turned back the clock and unleashed many hits during his six-decade career.
The tour – which began in the US in Allentown, Pennsylvania, back in September 2018 – has been postponed several times due to the COVID-19 pandemic and, at times, John’s health.

John (born Reginald Kenneth Dwight) and his band started off with a lively performance of Bennie And The Jets, all while he flashed a megawatt grin from behind the piano.
But with the band tense and energetic, it didn’t take long for him to get up from his seat to engage with the audience.
Dressed in a black tuxedo overcoat, full of embroidery and black pants, Pinner, a Middlesex native, England captivated the crowd with both his music and his jokes.
His look wouldn’t be complete without his signature flashy glasses, which have large frames and are tinted red tonight.

With the massive crowd all pumping up after the opening act’s high octane, John and his teammates didn’t lose any momentum as they watched Philadelphia Freedom.
As his show continued, John performed his other hit songs including I Guess That’s Why They Call It The Blues, Rocket Man, Candle In The Wind, Sad Songs (Say So Many), Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me, Crocodile Rock, I’m Still Standing and Saturday Night’s Alright for Fighting.
After the show in Chicago, John and the band will have a brief month-long break from their departure.
They will return to the stage on September 7 as the tour resumes with a few shows at the Rogers Center in Toronto, Canada.

After kicking off in September 2018 for the Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour, which was John’s last trip around the world, the band played continuously for about a year and a half.
But then, when COVID-19 was declared a pandemic in March 2020, the tour was halted shortly after his show in Sydney, Australia, on 7 March of that year.
Amid the pandemic and John’s recurrent health problems, including hip surgery caused by a fall ‘on a hard surface’, the tour has come to an end. sidelined until January 19, 2020, when he took the stage at Smoothie King Center in New Orleans.

After a reboot in the Big Easy, the tour toured parts of the United States through April 28 in Miami.
Since then, John and his band have been on a three-week hiatus before returning to Europe with a performance in Fornebu, Norway, on May 21.
The European leg continues until July 4 in Watford, England, and then John rests for eleven days before returning to the US with Friday’s show in Philadelphia.
The tour will make its final stop in the United States on November 20 at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles.
