Elon Musk’s X has completed the transition, now officially moving from Twitter.com to X.com
Twitter, now officially renamed X, underwent a significant change today, changing its web address from Twitter.com to X.com. The move completes a transition that began nearly a year ago. Back in July 2023, Elon Musk, the owner of the social network, decided to rename it X, an iconic letter with strong ties to the history of the technology mogul since the year 1999. Musk acquired Twitter in a massive $44 billion deal in October 2022.
The transition is complete: Twitter becomes X.com
The switch X.com marks a pivotal moment for the former Twitter platform. Users attempting to visit Twitter.com will now find themselves redirected to Musk’s preferred domain, or so it seems. However, as of now, the redirection experience will vary depending on the browser used and the user’s login status.

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg reported in April that Threads boasts more than 150 million monthly active users, a significant increase from previous figures. Additionally, Threads has begun testing a new web interface reminiscent of TweetDeck, a social media dashboard that Musk renamed X Pro last year, putting it behind a paywall.
