Elon Musk’s AI bot Grok is creating controversial images, but he says it’s the ‘funniest AI yet’


Elon Musk’s AI bot, GrokThere’s a new image generator out there and people are creating some really weird images using it. Right from the former President of the United States Donald Trump holding an assault rifle as the Twin Towers collapse in the background, Bill Gates snorting cocaine, and even Pikachu committing mass murder—Grok’s image generator appears to have very few filters. It even generates copyrighted branded images. Currently, Grok is only available to X Premium users, who pay a fee $900 a month for access.

User X is wondering: Where is the ‘AI barrier’?

We have seen how controversial Artificial Intelligence Image generators from companies like Gemini and Google’s OpenAI have been like this before. That’s why AI giants have strict “guardrails” in place to prevent their models from generating offensive content and other problematic images. With Grok, however, things are a little more ambiguous. In fact, Elon Musk has described Grok as “the funniest AI in the world.”

In this regard, people have shared various opinions about Grok’s new capabilities. “This is simply the only real AI model that speaks the truth on planet Earth. Thank you for directly taking the awakening thought Elon,” said one X user @AlexFinnx. While many others have raised concerns about Grok’s copyright issues, pointing out that it is creating images of copyrighted IPs like Mario, Star Wars, The Matrix, etc.

Grok claims to not create copyrighted content or nudity

According to a report by GuardianGrok reportedly claims that it cannot create nude images or “intentionally” infringing copyright content. However, it wouldn’t be surprising if regulators stepped in soon, especially since people have even created pornographic images of politicians like Donald Trump and Kamala Harris, as well as celebrities like Taylor Swift. But so far, Elon Musk seems to be praising the bot’s capabilities, and has been sharing images created by Grok.
