Elon Musk plans to donate $45 million per month to pro-Trump super PAC, WSJ reports

Elon Musk has said he is planning to pledge about $45 million a month to a newly formed super PAC supporting former President Donald TrumpWhite House Bidding, The Wall Street Journal reported on Monday.Cite sources from people who know the matter well.

Musk had not given any money to that group, called America PAC, as of late June, according to a submit quarterly financial reports filed with the Federal Election Commission on Monday evening.

It’s unclear whether he made the donation in July. An email to Musk associates was not immediately returned late Monday.

But the super PAC, which was formed in late May, has received contributions from other prominent businessmen, including Palantir The filing shows co-founder Joe Lonsdale and crypto billionaires Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss.

Multiple sources reported that Lonsdale donated $1 million to America PAC through Lonsdale Enterprises, an organization linked to the tech investor of the same name.

FEC filings show the Winklevoss brothers each donated $250,000 to the super PAC.

Lonsdale has yet to comment.

According to FEC filings, America PAC raised $8.8 million and spent $7.8 million from its inception through the end of June, leaving the company with just under $1 million in cash.

Musk, CEO of Tesla and SpaceX and one of the richest people in the world, officially confirmed Trump on Saturday, minutes after the Republican presidential candidate survived an assassination attempt at a campaign rally.

Report on Musk’s Pledge to Help Trump Defeat the President Joe Biden took place on the first day of the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, where Trump won enough delegates to officially become the Republican nominee.
