Released in JuneTwitter Blue is the social media giant’s first subscription service for those willing to pay for exclusive access to special features – such as the “Undo Tweet” feature. custom Twitter app icons and ability to add bookmarks.

In one a bunch of tweets on Saturday, Musk suggested no ads and reduced subscription prices.

“Everyone who subscribes to Twitter Blue (i.e. pays $3/month) will have a checkmark,” he tweeted.

“Price should probably be ~$2/month, but pay 12 months in advance and the account doesn’t get a check mark for 60 days (see CC chargebacks) and is suspended for no refunds if used for scam/spam,” he said.

“And no ads. The power of corporations to make policy would be greatly enhanced if Twitter depended on advertising dollars to survive,” he added.

“Maybe even an option to pay in Doge?” he proposed, referring to cryptocurrencies.

Twitter has yet to respond to CNBC’s request for comment.
