Elon Musk yesterday announced that Twitter will charge 8 USD per month to verify users’ accounts.
New Delhi:
Elon Musk, who acquired Twitter last week, has advocated a number of changes to the microblogging platform. Immediately after becoming an owner – Musk fired several senior executives, announced pay to get verified records and a valid process to restore banned Twitter accounts. Now, Musk seems to have put on another hat – the complaint hotline operator.
Elon Musk today changed my Twitter profile to “Twitter Complaint Hotline Operator”. Before closing his $44 billion acquisition of Twitter, the South African billionaire changed his bio to “Chief Twit”.
Shortly after changing his bio, Musk posted a cryptic tweet. “You get what you pay for,” wrote the richest man in the world.

Twitter users, advertisers, and its own employees have been closely watching for signs of what Musk will do in his first week as a Twitter owner. The Tesla CEO said today that Twitter will form a content moderation board made up of representatives with “broadly different views.”
Musk also said he spoke with civil society leaders “about how Twitter will continue to fight hate & harassment and enforce election integrity policies”.
Yesterday, Musk announced that the site will charge $8 per month to verify users’ accounts.
