Elder Scrolls Online Dev has been working on a new IP for 4.5 years
Elder Scrolls Online developer Zenimax Studios has been working on the new intellectual property for about four and a half years.
News discovered by Twitter account Klobrille, a video game commentator focused on Xbox Game Studios and Bestheda. They posted a screenshot of what appears to be an internal slide at Xbox showing the basics of Zenimax Studios. The slide lists “new IPs” along with Fallout and The Elder Scrolls. Official details about the game or its setting are scarce. However, Klobrille thanked the Twitter account bogorad222persons separately stated that this new project is a sci-fi game set in a city in the distant futureinvolving flying cars and parkour movement.
In addition, Klobrille linked a video about Product builder podcast. In this episode, creative director at ZeniMax Online Ben Jones discussed his expertise, career, and responsibilities. He talks about his work mostly in abstract terms, but says he is working on a new IP and that he oversees a team of about 50 people out of an overall development team of more than 200 people. To visualize the scale of the project, Zenimax Studios employs more than 500 employees in total. Jones described the project as a “significant investment” and “of great scale”.
Elder Scrolls Online released a new expansion, High Isle, earlier this year. Unlike many of the game’s previous regions and expansions, This expansion takes place in an area that no other Elder Scrolls game has ever set foot in.
