Elden Ring: How to find Malenia, Mohg and Draglonlord Placidusax

Elden Ring has a large amount of hidden content that is quite easy to miss. While the game challenges players to explore in depth, missing a giant area or super boss can be quite difficult. We’ve got you covered! Obviously yes ton of spoilers here, so if you want to dig yourself, leave immediately! I mean it, get out of here! Again, spoiler alert Back now!

How to find Malenia, Blade of Miquella

If you’ve made it to the end of the game and wondered where one of the story trailer’s top characters is located, she’s pretty well hidden away, inside a large old dungeon. She is the best fighter in the game and is an extremely serious challenge. To find her, you’ll first need the two halves of the secret Halitree medallion. The first half may be the hardest to find, located in Liurnia of the Lakes in the southwest corner. Inside the village you will find a grace checkpoint. From that charming spot, follow the hill until you meet the perfumer’s enemies. Take them out, then continue up the hill until you find a crate/pot. Hit the pot once, and someone will pop out! Say your best, and then you’ll have half a secret Halitree medal!

The second half of the medal cannot be obtained until later on the key path after you unlock the snowy mountains. To the north of this area is a small dungeon that is hard to miss, Castle Sol. You’ll have to kill a fairly high level command boss in there, and after doing so, go behind him and take the other half of the medals out of the chest. With the two halves combined, take them to the lift you originally used to reach the snowy area and select the “use secret medallion” option instead. You just unlocked a brand new outdoor area!

This space is huge and contains a lot of great ingredients for the final game, so be sure to explore the whole thing. However, our focus here is on going to Ordina, the Liturgical Town to the north, where you’ll have to solve an Evergaol puzzle to open the way to Halitree. To complete it, enter the Evergaol portal in town and beware – extremely dangerous enemies lurk within, use your best skill to dodge or defeat them while lighting the three lights on top of the tower. Once lit, return to the normal world and the gateway to Halitree will open.

Now the fun begins! Halitree is a vast late game legacy dungeon filled with danger, but also huge rewards and a treasure trove of late game resources. Continue through the tree until you reach Malenia, the final boss of this area. If you win, you’ll collect her runes and unlock some cool new toys, including a sweet katana that takes 48 dex to use. You can pick it up, and her entire armor set, at the Two Fingers room inside the Roundtable. Malenia is my favorite boss in any From Software game, enjoy the battle.

How to find Mohg, Lord of Blood

Ready to join a cult? Mohg and his disciples are hiding, trying to overthrow the world from the shadows. Interestingly, the easiest way to find Mohg is to go to the secret area via the Halitree medallion, as detailed above. In that vast snowy plain, you’ll find a church nestled near the top of the area. From there, locate the giant bell-ringing rock and head down to the subdivision, roughly where you can see on the map above (may be slightly off as there’s no actual marker) . There will be a bloodsucker attacking you, send him away and you will find a teleporter that will take you deep underground to the Mohg’s own headquarters.

While it’s not large enough to be an old dungeon, there are plenty of treasures to collect on the way to the Blood Lord. At the top of the area you will find Mohg. Beat him for some fun new options to add to your repertoire!

How to find Draglonlord Placidusax

Nestled in the floating ruins of Farum Azula is the lord of all dragons. Possibly the coolest dragon in any From Software game, Dragonlord Placidusax goes astray and is incredibly easy to miss. From the checkpoint shown here (Next to the Great Bridge) you’ll want to take the elevator back and carefully hop off the nearby rocks. It will take a few hops and you’ll find yourself on a sizable platform that doesn’t look like anything out of the ordinary on it. You’ll find some skeletons in the graves – place yourself on the conspicuously empty tomb lacking a skeleton, then lie down in it. You will be transported to the Dragonlord Placidusax war. This fight is a visual sight, that’s for sure. If you win the day you can get a very cool sword. For those of you who have embraced the dragon power of trust built into the Elden Ring, you’ll also gain access to a powerful spell that allows you to melt your opponents with golden breath.

How to find Astel, Naturalborn of the Void

Spatial error? In my Elden ring? It is more likely than you think. For this, you’ll first have to defeat Rennala at the Academy or Raya Lucaria to unlock her tower, which is accessible in the backyard of the Carian Manor (You know, the haunted place with it all. the Wallmasters). Once unlocked, a portal at the top will take you deep underground, eventually leading to a magenta-filled lake. Brave the cruel poison to the end, and grab a coffin at the end of a cliff to reach Astel’s arena. This boss’s sweet loot includes a magical flame that manifests void energy and weapon ashes that can be attached to machine guns, giant weapons, and the like – helping to eliminate an area ridiculous void effect!
