The Earl and Countess of Wessex paid tribute to the Queen, saying there was an “unimaginable void in our lives”.
They added in a personal touch, referring to the Queen as their “beloved mother”.
In a statement, the Queen’s youngest son Edward and his wife Sophie said they have been “overwhelmed with emotions” following the king’s death, adding: “Thanks for your support, friend I don’t know what it means”.
They continued: “The passing of the Queen has left an unimaginable void in our lives.
“Sophie and I are overjoyed to see our James and Louise enjoying the places and activities their grandparents loved so much.
“Given that my mother let us spend a lot of time with her, I think she also enjoyed watching those passions blossom.
“Those times together, those happy memories, have now become so precious to each of us.”
The couple are the latest members of the British Royal Family to publicly speak out about the Queen’s death.

About a week ago, the Prince of Wales, now heir to the throne, said: “There is much to be said in the coming days about the significance of her historic reign.
“However, I have lost a grandmother. And while I will grieve her loss, I also feel incredibly grateful. I have benefited from the Queen’s wisdom and assurances. in his fifth decade.”
Meanwhile, thousands of people will continue to line up to see the Queen lying in state at Westminster Hall.
