Via Jake Tiernan: Eddie Hearn says he wants to revisit the negotiations between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury to try to make that fight if the Oleksandr Usyk-Fury fight doesn’t happen next.
Hearn says Joshua (24-3, 22 KOs) has to win his April 1 bout against Jermaine Franklin, and if he looks okay, Eddie wants to get Fury to fight for AJ right away.
Fury and Joshua tried to fight each other last December, but negotiations fell through when Tyson drew a line in the sand, insisting that the bout take place on December 3, which would never Now happens, because AJ is going to be on the field a second. lost to Usyk last August.
Hearn might be a little too hopeful about a possible Joshua-Fury fight because he doesn’t notice how problematic negotiations with Fury will become.

“I think they’ll make a deal, but if they don’t, I’d like to sit down with George Warren and make Tyson Fury fight Anthony Joshua straight after the AJ-Franklin game on April 1st,” Eddie Hearn told iFL TV about how he wants to be that Joshua-Fury if negotiations between Fury and Oleksandr Usyk break out.
“We have agreed on the terms. Financially, the fight is twice as big as Tyson Fury’s than Oleksandr Usyk. We will sign that fight now depending on victory over Franklin.
“But all the attention is on April 1. We need to see what he looks like, and we need and he needs to win that,” Hearn said of Joshua. “Deontay Wilder wants all kinds of fights. He just went to Saudi to see what’s really out there,” Hearn said when informed that Wilder wanted to fight Usyk if the Fury-Usyk fight didn’t happen.
“He is looking for big fights. I don’t believe he can beat Oleksandr Usyk. I love looking at it. It was a good fight. Wilder is someone else that if AJ comes through April 1, he’s also someone he should be looking to fight in 2023,” Hearn said.
