Eddie Hearn Wants Dereck Chisora To Fight Chris Arreola In 2022 Boxing News 24

Via Charles Brun: Eddie Hearn says he wants to take on the recently defeated Dereck Chisora with three-time heavyweight world title challenger Chris ‘The Nightmare’ Arreola for his next bout.
If this fight happens, chances are Arreola scores to knock Chisora down and send him out of retirement.
The question is whether British boxing fans are willing to buy ticket to watch Chisora fight Arreola. UK fans are willing to pay to see Chisora fight live in the UK in his last three matches as he is facing relevant heavyweights on a daily basis. The first were Joseph Parker and Oleksandr Usyk.
Will Chisora and Arreola make a sale?
Fans may not be willing to pay to see Chisora fight second-place boxer Arreola since he has failed since 2013.
Hearn says he wants 37-year-old Chisora (32-12, 23 KOs) against an opponent he would be favored to beat for a change and he feels that Arreola is about to turn 41 (38-7-1, 33 KO) would be the ideal teamfight.
Arreola is about to lose to Andy Ruiz Jr. last May in Carson, California. It was Arreola’s first game in nearly two years since a loss to Adam Kownacki in August 2019.
Compared to Chisora’s poor performance against Parker, Arreola looked pretty okay knocking Ruiz out in the second round and giving him something to think about throughout the competition.
Hearn expects Chisora to be the favorite
Eddie Hearn thought that Chisora would be the favorite against Arreola, but Charles Brun disagreed. Arreola will probably be the favorite as he is still fighting at a higher level than Chisora so far.
For example, in Arreola’s fight with Adam Kownacki in 2019, he threw more than 1000 punches. Chisora wasn’t even capable of throwing even a quarter of that. If Arreola unleashes 1000 shots from Chisora’s oven, he’s likely to knock him down multiple times.
Of course, Arreola abandoned Chisora; he will finish him off on the spot because he has NO killer instincts, even in his advanced age. He wouldn’t watch Chisora go to the corner to defend from that vantage point after injuring him the way Parker did. Chisora would be attacked by Arreola as soon as he got up, and he would never get a chance to stagger to the corner of the field.
‘Nightmare’ Arreola has not won a game since a stoppage-time win over Jeanpierre Augustin in March 2019.
Chisora lost to former WBO heavyweight champion Joseph Parker by unanimous decision in round 12 in a title fight over DAZN last Saturday night at Manchester Arena in Manchester, England.
Arreola is an excellent finisher
Parker, 29, who was starting to look lackluster to himself, dropped Chisora three times during the bout and nearly knocked him out in the ninth.
If Parker had had better stamina and killer instincts, he would have finished Chisora in the fourth round because he looked like an old man out in the ring.
Even though Chisora is 37 years old, he appears to be a boxer in his 40s, and it’s unsettling to watch, especially as he gets up from the frame and slowly walks over to one of the corner in a last stand situation.
What’s interesting is how Parker doesn’t jump into Chisora. It was as if Parker had no consciousness.
Chisora will have almost no choice but to retire after his loss to Arreola as this is not the first-rate boxer he is going to lose.
Boxing fans gave Chisora a ticket for losing to Parker and Usyk of elite level heavyweights, but they wouldn’t if he was beaten by Arreola because that guy is no more. at its peak.
If Arreola is the best Hearn can put up for Chisora to fight next, he must know that he will put his Dereck in a position he cannot afford to lose.
