Eddie Hearn says Canelo wants to “cut off Golovkin’s head”

Advertiser Eddie Hearn spoke of Saul “Canelo” Alvarez’s hatred of rival Gennady Golovkin, in the face of what looks to be the final installment of their historical trilogy.
In an interview with Ali Drew of Boxing Social, Hearn tells of the real dislike Canelo has for his partner, which seems to have grown since their second fight. However, the Matchroom promoter also mentioned the role of emotions in this fight and he does not believe that his boxer will be able to put his feelings about Golovkin aside.
“Canelo told me he was sick of confrontation because when he looked at him [Golovkin] he wants to rip his head off.
I’ve never seen him like this before. I think he will want to control his emotions because of Triple G [Golovkin] will want him to fight his emotions, he will want him to be reckless. But I think he will be reckless. I don’t think he will back down in this fight and neither will Gennady Golovkin. That’s why I think this will be the best of the three [fights] but.”
Having lost only for the second time in his career in the final battle against Dmitry Bivol, Canelo needed no motivation to return to victory as he yearned to rebuild his legacy. However, the extra motivation of fighting his fierce opponent, Golovkin, will only fuel his will and desire to win on Saturday night.
Hearn commented on Alvarez’s ambition to show that he was as good, if not better, before he suffered defeat to Bivol.
“After a defeat, a lot of people will question him, and he will find a way to make a statement. I think they both believe that physically they’re going into a fight on Saturday night, and they’re preparing for battle. “
Saul Alvarez takes on Gennady Golovkin in Las Vegas on Saturday night with the match scheduled for 11pm ET in the US, which is 4am on Sunday for UK fans.
