Eddie Hearn Reacts To Fury Criticizing Joshua And Usyk Performances

Via Jim Calfa: Eddie Hearn reacted angrily Saturday night when asked about Tyson Fury’s negative comments about Anthony Joshua and Oleksandr Usyk during their rematch in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Given that Joshua (24-3, 22 KOs) cried during his post-fight press conference, Hearn felt that Fury, who has had mental problems during his career, shot him.

Instead of Fury bragging about Joshua at a low point in his life, Fury chooses to kick him while he’s down.

As for the record, Joshua lost the deciding round of 12 to IBF, WBA & WBO heavyweight champion Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs) in a match where the results were decided in the final three rounds. [10, 11 & 12].

“You saw the reaction there [with Joshua]. Here’s a guy in Tyson Fury who openly says he’s had all these mental health issues and struggles. You see a guy up there crying,” Eddie Hearn said in response to learning that Tyson Fury had said tonight that he would beat both Joshua and Oleksandr Usyk.

Fury’s comment on Joshua’s loss to Usyk:

“Both of them are dead. It was one of the worst heavyweight world title fights I’ve ever seen. It’s a bull,” said Tyson Fury above social mediareaction to Oleksandr Usyk’s win over Anthony Joshua.

“I will beat them both on the same night. Get your checkbook out because Gyspy King is here to stay forever,” Fury said.

“As big and strong as AJ has for many years put on a brave face, and tonight you saw the cracks in his armor. So if you want to meet a guy who has gone through this mental health experience and attack someone when they are down and when they’re devastated, it shows you what kind of person he is,” Hearn said of Fury.

Tyson has made it clear that he is about to retire to fight Usyk, but he warned that his checkbook will need to be taken out. The way Fury is saying it, he can price himself out of the fight and end up with nothing.

“Perhaps, yes. Hearn said when asked if he would work with Usyk in the future. I told them the day before, ‘How good have I done you?’ They said, ‘Unbelievable,’ but we’ll see. This is where my heart is [Joshua].

“Last time I was very disappointed [Joshua lost to Usyk]and I’m proud this time because I feel like last time, he can do so much more,” Hearn said. “Tonight, he left it all in the ring. I don’t know what else you can do.

“We talk about getting respect from people. If you give your all, how come you don’t get respect from everyone? It’s not like he’s finished the fight and is trying to survive. He was in there swinging, taking everything but the kitchen sink for the last three laps, and standing firmly on his feet.

“He went through the whole fight with Robert Garcia, kicking himself, ‘should have done this, should have done it, why didn’t I do this?’” Hearn said when asked in response. Joshua’s reaction in the dressing room after the game. Hearn said: “He was screaming a little bit and was very disappointed when he lost.
