Ahead of a promising statement this week in which Conor Benn will shed light on banned substances found in his system, Eddie Hearn has said the situation could point towards contamination.
Shock and disappointment pervaded the boxing world when the Daily Mail reported that Conor Benn had failed a Voluntary Anti-Doping Agency drug test prior to his fight with Chris Eubank Jr. unwanted position of having to delete his name.
With the news that he will attempt to do so this week through media interviews, Eddie Hearn offered an insight into what the boxer might have to say. As caught by Boxing UKBenn’s promoters say the information they have may indicate contamination.

This isn’t the first time a boxer has claimed poisoning following an adverse test result, and it certainly won’t be the last. The issue for Benn here is how strong of a case he can make for fans, boxers and professionals to come back to him. Not only that, a investigation by the UK Anti-Doping Agency and the British Boxing Supervisory Boardand, given the record of the case, it’s unlikely they’ll be lenient.
