Speaking on DAZN . boxing showHearn says:
“We really want to be active with AJ.”
Joshua, 32, has been a boxer twice a year since 2018, but he has only fought once a year for the past two years, largely due to the pandemic.
And Hearn is eager to get his star spot – who won an Olympic gold medal in London in 2012 – on a more aggressive schedule.
Hearn continued:
“I think he struggled with acting mainly through the pandemic but also because of the size of his shows.
“He wants – win, lose, or draw – to fight in December.”
Tyson Fury, the WBC champion, is expected to wrap up his self-imposed break before the end of the year, likely to have a bout with Derek Chisora in the trilogy.
But Hearn thinks the undisputed war is just around the corner and makes some bold claims about the scale of the war:
“Obviously, we will win [against Usyk] and I believe he’s going to win and if so we’re going to look straight at the Tyson Fury fight that’s indisputable.
“It was the biggest fight in boxing, the biggest fight of all time.
“The key for AJ is definitely activity.
“I really believe AJ-Fury will happen regardless of August 20.
“Like I said, if and when AJ wins, that fight is the biggest in the history of the sport. Not only in our generation – the history of this sport. “
