Eddie Hearn made 2 offers to Adrien Broner to beat Conor Benn

Via Jack Tiernan: Eddie Hearn says he made two offers to Adrien ‘The Problem’ Broner to try and set up a fight with his star heavyweight Conor Benn. So far, Broner (34-4-1, 24 KOs) has not taken the coin he offers.

It’s not clear what kind of coin the 32-year-old Broner is looking for against Benn. Broner hasn’t fought in 14 months since his questionable 12-round unanimous decision against little-known 140 lb side contender Jovanie Santiago last year in February.

Showtime president Stephen Espinoza revealed that Broner was in Colorado training for a battle. He didn’t say who Broner would be up against, but it doesn’t seem like a good bet when it will be Conor Benn, not when Hearn says he’s made two offers.

Hearn says he believes 25-year-old Benn (21-0, 14 KOs) has more money than former first division four world champion Broner.

If so, what happened to all Broner’s money he’s made in his 14-year professional career?

“He broke. I have more money than himI’ll tell you that right now,” Conor Benn told Behind the gloves about Adrien Broner. “I have more money than that idiot.

“He can keep spending his money on what he spends. He doesn’t have to worry about me and my wallet. Don’t throw rocks if you live in a greenhouse, mate.

“Listen, he’s broken and ugly. I don’t really care,” Benn said, saying that Eddie Hearn said he was the person he wanted on his resume. “I’ll be back in June or July.”

If Broner believes he can get a better deal fighting another boxer, he should move on, but there’s a lot for him to gain fighting Benn.

Defeating the famous British boxer Benn will lead to a rematch, helping Broner earn a lot of money.

Even if Broner wasn’t interested in facing Benn a second time, victory would rejuvenate his career and lead to other exciting battles.

“I would be Conor with more money than Adrien Broner in the bank,” Eddie Hearn told Behind The Gloves. “It’s dedication. Anyway, we want to make Broner fight. I’ve given him TWO offers right now.

“I texted him, and he said, ‘Oh, man, man. That’s not enough money. I will talk to Al [Haymon]. ‘ Then he texted me two days later, ‘Do you have another offer for me?’ So I don’t think he has many offers at the moment.

“Yes, he is a great character. I love Adrien Broner, and I want to take him to London. We’ll see,” Hearn said when told that a fight between Broner and Benn would be interesting.

Broner may be hearing about Kell Brook wanting £10m to play Benn, and he may think he will cost millions of pounds too. Brook hasn’t achieved as much in his career as Broner, but in England he has done very well.
