ED summons TMC’s Abhishek Banerjee in ‘coal smuggling scam’ | India News

KOLKATA: The Executive Board on Tuesday issued a summons Trinamool Congress‘general secretary of the country Abhishek Banerjee One official said the suspicion was related to their investigation into a ‘coal theft scam’.
The Central Authority asked Banerjee, grandson of the Premier of West Bengal Mamata Banerjeeto show up at the Kolkata office on Friday morning, he said.
“We have summoned Abhishek Banerjee to present to our police here. Our officers from New Delhi will come to question him,” the senior ED official told PTI.
While attacking BJP in a program, TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee on Monday was apprehensive that central authorities could send notices to her grandson, considered second-in-command in the party, and other senior leaders.
