Eclipse Yibir Award Winner Will Miss Sword Dancer

Godolphin’s Yibir winner of the 2021 Eclipse Prize for Champion Turf Male, will not run in Resorts World Casino Dancer’s (G1T) 1 1/2 mile track at Racecourse Saratoga on Travers Day, August 27.
Chris Connett, move assistant to coach Charlie Appleby, said August 14 in Saratoga, “He’s had a setback (August 13), so, unfortunately, he won’t be. pass”. “I don’t know the details, but I received an email and as far as I know, it’s just a small step backwards. Unfortunately, it came at the wrong time.”
Connett said 4-year-old Yibir is in Newmarket Racecourse in the UK. The son of Dubai has won seven of 16 career starts, has three seconds and three thirds, and has a career earnings of $4,274,138.
One of his four starts this year was in Man o’ War Stakes (G1T) at Belmont Park May 14, when he came in third. In his only other start in the United States, Yibir won the 2021 Jockey Club Cycling Championship and the 2021 Longines Breeders’ Cup Turf (G1T) Championship at Del Mar previous November.
“It would be great to get him on the plane on (August 18) and come and have a real chance in Sword Dancer,” Connett said. “These things happen, and he’ll be back fighting another day.”
Connett is still overseeing the two Godolphin horses that won at Saratoga. With The Moonlight August 7th Saratoga Oaks Invitational Stakes (G3T) winner is aiming to run the 1 1/16 mile, $200,000 Lake Placid Stakes (G2T) for 3-year-olds on Aug. in Saratoga.
