EA is laying off 6% of workers and restructuring
EA announced 6% layoffs and restructuring. News comes through a EA official blog post, were also shared internally with employees, and EA said it began notifying employees of layoffs as early as 2023.
Affected workers will continue to receive layoff notices until the start of the new financial year starting in April. SEC documents show that the EA had 12,900 employees as of March 2022, showing that 6% or about 774 employees were affected.

The EA also submitted an 8-K form – a mandatory notice when companies make major changes that shareholders need to know about – to the Securities and Exchange Commission, and the company said the restructuring will end in September. inside sample 8-KILLION, the company also said it expected to “incur about $170 million to $200 million in fees.” These fees relate to intellectual property impairment, employee severance and employee-related costs, reductions in office space, and contract cancellations.
EA’s restructuring plan comes after the company laid off hundreds of employees. Apex Legends Quality Checker in February and canceled many projects in early 2022, including a single player game set in the Titanfall and Apex Legends universes. EA also made the decision to stop working Apex Legends mobile gameis currently scheduled to close on May 1.
