EA introduces the first trailer for the EA Sports PGA Tour, just as 2K’s PGA Tour 2K23 launches

EA released a teaser trailer for their first golf game since 2015, the EA Sports PGA Tour. It is expected to feature all four major golf championships, as well as some of the most famous courses in the world. You can find a 30-second clip of the grass and sandpit below.

The PGA Tour was announced last year and then has a suggested spring 2022 release date, which obviously comes and goes. Today’s teaser trailer comes with a new release window in spring 2023. When the game arrives, it will feature the Masters, PGA Championship, US Open and The Open Championship. It will also include courses like Augusta, Pebble Beach, St. Andrews and The Country Club in Brookline. There is a longer although still seemingly incomplete list of courses included in the game’s official FAQ.

The game will also feature a full career mode, a Player Creation feature, and the inclusion of the Women’s Professional Golf Association.

Awesome, EA Sports has timed this teaser trailer to coincide with the October 14 release of the similarly named 2K Sports. PGA Tour 2k23. 2K’s effort features Tiger Woods, men’s and women’s golfers, and the FedEx Cup, but lacks the major tournaments and well-known courses that have been announced for EA’s swing.

The only downside right now is that as of now, there’s no confirmed platform for the EA Sports PGA Tour, so there’s no guarantee it’ll come to PC. I hope it has. My teenage years playing the software-like PGA Tour on PC felt like another life, but it was a pleasant one.
