E-40 Donate $100K to Grambling State University’s Department of Music


Bay Area legend E-40 recently granted him a huge donation old school, Grambling State University (GSU)! Specifically, E-40 cuts Louisiana HBCU a check for $100k, to be used to benefit its music division.

The organization renamed its recording studio after Rapper

The news came on Friday, when E-40 stopped by the institution — which he attended that day — to participate in its annual meeting. Prez said incident.

While visiting campus, E-40 presented the institution with a check for $100k. The “Tell Me When To Go” rapper features his wife, as well as GSU President Richard Gallot and Dr Nikole Roebuck, Grambling’s Music Department President and Band Director.

GSU further acknowledged the E-40’s contribution with an Instagram post. Notably, this upload notes that the recording studio in Grambling’s Performing Arts Center will be renamed the “Earl ‘E-40’ Stevens” Recording Studio.

“We had a very special guest back on campus for Prez Says and to give a special donation to the university. @e40 and @dr.nikkiroe combined forces to make this special moment a reality and renamed the recording studio in the Performing Arts Center to the Earl Recording Studio “E-40″ Stevens”.

The end of the caption reads enthusiastically, “We are delighted to welcome you back to school and we appreciate the impact your gift has had on our students.”

E-40 joins the growing list of stars who have donated to HBCU

E-40 has certainly been a hit with his donation and he’s one of the many stars who have donated back to HBCU recently!

Just last month, Spike Lee revealed a scholarship program for HBCU students in Atlanta, like Shade room previous report.

Also, back in December, Ms. Elliott donated $20,000 to Norfolk State University before receiving an honorary doctorate from the institution.

Charlamagne also joined the donation when he established a scholarship fund at South Carolina State University by donating $250,000. Notably, it was named “Ford Family Incentive Scholarship Fund” in honor of his mother and grandmother, and it benefits women who major in English or communication, with people who are studying to become a mental health professional.
