One of the most anticipated superhero movies of 2022, Black Adam starring Dwayne The Rock Johnson is due for release in October, but according to the film’s director Jaume Collet-Serra, the film is finished and ready to shoot and the cast has even seen it.
The series actually lasted a long time with rumors of Dwayne being cast as the anti-hero dating back to 2007. However, Dwayne signed an official contract for the film in 2014, at that time I have decided to choose Black Adam. will appear as the villain in the movie Shazam. However, later, this decision was in favor of Black Adam a movie of its own.
The film was originally slated for a December 2021 release, but the COVID-19 pandemic has shut down many industries and the film industry is one of them. The film’s release was delayed to the summer of 2022 but then Warner Brothers decided that the final film would be released in October 2022.
The delay is attributed to the mountain of VFX work piling up in the industry, requiring VFX artists to spend more time in post-production. A sound decision by Warner Brothers at a time when Marvel is under fire for overworking and underpaying the VFX artists working on their films.
But despite all the careful consideration that caused the delay in the film’s release, the film is now, almost 2 months ahead of schedule, in a state of release. This will help the studio focus all of its energy on marketing the project, something Dwayne Johnson I have done a lot of things myself because of my passion for the project.
Dwayne stated that the upcoming film will change the DC universe forever and fans are certainly hoping for that for a change that DC desperately needs after the disappointing record of movies like Justice League and Wonder Woman 1984 at the box office.
Black Adam releases in cinemas worldwide on October 21, 2022.
