Ducks exercise Dallas Eakins’ club option by contract

The Anaheim Ducks will exercise the club option on head coach Dallas Eakins’ contract and keep him for the 2022-23 NHL season.

Duck had 47.87% CF% and 47.13% xGF% in 5v5 during that time period, placing 23rd and 25th in the league, respectively.

Eakins previously coached in the NHL with the Edmonton Oilers for a season and a half from October 2013 to December 2014, hitting a 36-63-14 record with the team.

He also coached the AHL before that for eight seasons with the Toronto Marlies for four seasons before signing with Edmonton and four with the San Diego Gulls before being promoted to the Ducks head coach position. He has a record of 311-209-64 in the AHL, with two championships and five playoffs, including a trip to the 2012 Calder Cup Final with the Marlies.
