Dubawi’s Kubrick Pounces for G3 Prix des Chenes Triumph
Via Sean Cronin
White Birch Farm’s 2 year old pony Kubrick (Ire) (Dubawi {Ire} –Rosa Bonheur, of Mr. Greeley) assisted his second debut on July 24 with seven runs at Dieppe with a breakout win at Deauville last month and continued to upgrade with way back to a strong Irish challenger during Thursday’s G3 Prix des Chenes at ParisLongchamp. The final winner used a patience tactic from the bottom of the flag and was placed in sixth place, at the bottom of the field, all the way halfway through. Continuing straight under pressure in the house, the favorite 31-10 seconds quickly gained a slim advantage with 100 yards left and was rode in dying embers to claim by neck from Coolmore and his hero. Westerberg is undefeated Adelaide River (Ire) (Australia {GB}) for the first black success.
