Draymond Green sidelined for at least two weeks with calf injury
Star Warrior Draymond Green will be absent for at least two weeks due to ongoing pain in the calf, The group announced on social media. Green’s calf pain is related to a disc adhesion in his lower back.
The three-time champion will receive physical therapy in the coming days and be reevaluated at the end of the two-week period. Golden State is 3-5 without Green this season, compared to 28-6 when he’s playing.
Despite the lack of Green, the Warriors won a 138-96 road game against the Bulls on Friday. Players like Jonathan Kuminga (25 points), Nemanja Bjelica (11 rebounds) and Otto Porter Jr. (nine points) all increase in absenteeism. Porter gets the start at the power front.
During the season, Green averaged 7.9 points, 7.6 rebounds and 7.4 assists per game, providing defensive versatility in all five positions. The Warriors are set to start a seven-game house on Tuesday, spanning 13 days.
