Dragon Quest Tarot and Hanafuda decks are open for pre-order
Square Enix has opened pre-orders for tarot cards And hanafuda card based Dragon quest. These are exclusive to the Square Enix Japan store, meaning those outside of Japan will need to find some kind of authorized service to import them.
The Dragon quest The Tarot cards are priced at 2200 JPY ($14) and will ship on June 30, 2024. As a purchase bonus, the Tarot cards come with a code that you can use in Dragon Quest X. This code will give you a Tarot Medallion and Tarot cards that you can use to decorate your home. These Tarot cards look more like collector’s or hobbyist items, as the card art lacks many of the symbols and motifs found on traditional decks.
The Dragon quest Hanafuda cards cost 3300 JPY ($20.95) and will launch on September 29, 2024. You can actually use them to play Hanafuda, or you can keep them around as display items. All of the cards feature classic monsters from the series and of course Slimes appear the most. They still incorporate the Japanese imagery present on the traditional Hanafuda deck.
