Draglia Lost, Nintendo’s mobile RPG, will close after the story ends this July

Dragalia Lost is a massively multiplayer action role-playing game developed exclusively for mobile devices by Nintendo in partnership with GranBlue Fantasy developer CyGames. After more than three years of service, the game will close.

Nintendo announced this news in a blog post today. The post says the outage will come after the game’s campaign ends this July with a “final and climactic addition to its long-running story.” In fact, after next week’s update, Dragalia Lost won’t get any more content, save it for the story missions coming out this July.

“Dragalia Lost’s main campaign is expected to end in July 2022 with season two of chapter 26, the final addition and climax to its long-running story,” the blog post reads. “Once the main campaign ends, service for the game will end at a later date. Further details on the end of service schedule will be provided in a future notice. ”

Nintendo says a final set of new adventurers will be added during a “summon rollout” scheduled for March 31. While that will be the final drop in content (aside from content). of the July campaign), Nintendo said that the summons will introduce existing adventurers/dragons, and the event recovery will continue to be available until Dragalia Lost is discontinued.

“The Dragalia Lost team would like to thank all of our players, past and present, for your love and support for Dragalia Lost since its launch,” Nintendo wrote. “We sincerely hope that you’ve enjoyed your experience with the game from the moment you start playing it, and we’ll work to ensure that you continue to do so as time permits.”

Dragalia Lost was released on September 27, 2018and has consistently received new content and updates over the years, although admittedly the game’s content intake has slowed down over the past few years. In 2019, Dragalia Lost surpassed the $100 million revenue mark, making it Nintendo’s second most successful mobile game at the time. Since then, Pikmin Bloom has been released. Dragalia’s disappearance coming to an end isn’t a big surprise, considering Nintendo has shut down other mobile games, like Dr. Mario World, before.
