DoorDash is now distributing purchases from Facebook Marketplace
You may not have to make purchases on your local Facebook Marketplace for the foreseeable future. Meta yes confirmed arrive The Wall Street Journal DoorDash is currently processing deliveries on Facebook Marketplace as part of an “soon” partnership. Shippers will deliver orders small enough to fit in the trunk of a car and come from sellers 15 miles away, MagazineSources said, and will complete their dropout within 48 hours.
One tip said the feature is currently free to attract customers. It is unclear how Facebook and DoorDash will charge customers in the future. Companies have been testing the service in multiple US cities in recent months.
The reason for the grouping was supposed to be simple. Meta already knows that Marketplace is one of the few Facebook features young people use when they’re not jump to TikTok, according to sources. DoorDash can help drive demand, especially among younger users.
For DoorDash, the alliance can help reduce reliance on restaurant orders. The company has been grocery delivery and Convenience store essentials for many years. This would give DoorDash a more stable source of income and could help it compete with Uber Eats Nationwide Delivery Service.
