DOOM: The Dark Ages will be announced this June, according to a new ‘Exclusive’
The next installment in the first-person shooter series DEATH is said to debut at Xbox’s game showcase this June.
According to Insider Gaming’s Tom Henderson, this new section will officially be titled ‘DOOM: Dark Ages‘ (previously codenamed ‘Year Zero’) and is said to be a “medieval-inspired” game.
Here’s exactly what he had to say:
“Last year, I heard early details about the next installment in the DOOM series, which was described to me as a ‘medieval-inspired doomsday world’. Although that didn’t necessarily provide providing plenty of information to go on, ‘year zero’, ‘Dark Ages’ and ‘medieval-inspired’ begin to paint a vivid picture of where the series could go next. Maybe we’ll get a glimpse of Doomslayer’s life in the Middle Ages?
Also yes announced the title would be a “cross-platform” releaseAnd Windows Center Jez Corden corroborated the report – mentioning the new game is also “slated for Playstation”.
While there’s no specific mention of a Nintendo release, the Switch has received every major DOOM entry, including “impossible ports” of the latest titles and DLC.
In other words, if this rumored title will appear on more platforms in the future, it’s likely that it will appear on Nintendo’s next-gen hardware.
Nintendo said it will share the announcement of the Switch successor this financial year.
