This weekend, the IndyCar series will return to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for Saturday afternoon’s event. That means it’s time to get Jalopnik IndyCar Fantasy League picks submitted!
Now, I know what you’re thinking. Why do you have to choose so early? Well, the IndyCar Fantasy League website ran into some hiccups during its first race of the weekend in St.Petersburg; a large number of people just before the race saw the Virtual servers fail, meaning a lot of people didn’t exercise their choice.
I recommend making some selections now, as you can always change them later. Plus, we have a race on Saturday this weekend, so don’t let your guard down!
(And as a reminder, we are discounting the results of that first race when awarding the prize – although if the results of St. Your Pete can get you to the top that you wouldn’t otherwise, we’ll make sure you’re compensated.)
The NASCAR-IndyCar combo weekend is back again this year, and IndyCar will be one of the first events at IMS this weekend with a noon kickoff for Saturday’s race. Team Penske’s Josef Newgarden, who was third in points, was cleared to race after heading in Iowa, and his pace was quite appealing despite his injury.

And speaking of rankings, let’s talk about our Jalopnik Fantasy League leaderboard, because it’s a pretty tight fight for the top spot:

- Jahiegel reached 1831.25 points
- Paisano Racing stands at 1819 points
Of course, there’s still quite a bit of racing in the season, meaning a lot of good guys can still challenge our top three for the overall win. All you have to do is get those options!
