Donald Trump, facing jail time, absurdly claims that he never called for Hillary Clinton to be locked up

In fact, Trump repeatedly called for Clinton to be jailed during the 2016 campaign, a small sample of which included:

• Speak in one July 2016 protests, “Every time I mention her, everyone screams, ‘Lock her up, lock her up.’ What do you know? I’m starting to agree with you.”
• Write on X, then Twitter“Hillary Clinton should have been prosecuted and jailed. Instead, she is running for president in what appears to be a rigged election.”
• Declare in time June 2016 protests that Clinton “should go to jail.”
• Told Clinton in a meeting October 2016 presidential debate: “If I win, I will instruct my attorney general to send a special prosecutor to look into your situation,” and said that if he is in charge of the law then she will “in prison.”

Coincidentally, calls for Clinton’s imprisonment have not stopped now that she is no longer Trump’s opponent. In September 2020, when he was racing with Joe Biden, He answered “I agree” with slogans calling for the former Democratic candidate to be locked up.

Meanwhile, he also claimed in 2016 that Clinton should not be allowed to run for president because she maybe indicted.
