Donald Trump chooses Charles Kushner, Jared’s father, as the next Ambassador of France

Kushner, 70, had a strong stake in real estate in the early 2000s before getting into legal trouble and pleading guilty in 2004. In his defense, he admitted targeting his brother-in-law, William Schuldera former employee became a witness for federal prosecutors in the case against the elder Kushner. The plot included Kushner hiring a prostitute to lure Schulder into a motel room, have sex with him, and film him with a hidden camera. That tape was then sent to Schulder’s wife, Kushner’s sister, as a threat.
Alas, Kushner’s plan did not work and he was sentenced to two years in prison, but was released earlier in 2006.
However, he found vindication with Trump’s pardon more than a decade later.
Trump granted clemency to Kushner “as part of a wave of 26 pardons he has issued with about a month remaining in his first term, along with other close associates including chief Paul Manaforthis 2016 campaign chairman, and Roger J. Stone Jr.a longtime ally and informal advisor,” New York Times report in their Saturday article about Trump’s pick. Both Jared and Charles Kushner, according to reports from timeplayed an important role Trump considers who to grant clemency to.
The prosecution of Kushner’s first case was nothing more than that Chris Christieformer governor of New Jersey, then United States attorney. Christie—the one who has become One voiced criticism of Trump—called Kushner’s misconduct “one of the most disgusting, heinous crimes that I have prosecuted…and I was the United States attorney in New Jersey” in 2019 interview with PBS.
