The day after Father’s Day, three-time father Don Omar revealed his cancer diagnosis. Now, he is sharing the results of a surgery he underwent to treat the disease.

The 46-year-old first revealed he had cancer in an Instagram post on Monday (June 17). However, he did not say what type it was.
For context, the US National Cancer Institute previously said There are more than 200 types of diseases. This year, NCI estimates Doctors will diagnose “about 2.0 million people” with a variant of the disease.
“Today yes, but tomorrow I won’t have cancer,” Don Omar said in his caption, translated from Spanish. “Good intentions are well received. See you again as soon as possible. #f**kungu”
The post features a closed fist image of Don Omar with a red and white hospital bandage around his wrist. A closer look at the band shows that his surgery may have been performed at Orlando Health, a private hospital.
Within two days, article received more than 53,000 comments and more than 970,000 likes.
Spanish rapper undergoes surgery, reveals results
As mentioned above, on Tuesday (June 18), Don Omar returned to his Instagram profile with an update about his cancer.
He told his 11.9 million followers that his surgery was successful and he is now cancer-free.
“Today I woke up cancer-free and grateful. Thank you for your good wishes, prayers and thousands of messages. My surgery is now successful for recovery,” he said in his caption, translated from Spanish.
In addition, he also shared a selfie photo of him giggling with a tired look on his face.
This health update comes just weeks before Don Omar returns to the road for the second leg of his ‘Return to Reggaeton’ tour. He will start concert in Oakland, California in August.
Earlier this month, the Puerto Rican rapper shared historic news about his career. 21 years after the release of his debut album ‘The Last Don’, it has surpassed one billion streams on Spotify.
Months before the cancer scare, Don Omar made peace with longtime reggaeton rival and fellow Puerto Rican Daddy Yankee.
“Thank you for collaborating and competing because I did it with a giant. Together I keep the beautiful memories, the laughter, the dreams and the desire to get to the final round with such a great opponent. We’ll see each other again soon because I owe you a hug and a thank you in person. In the meantime, long live King Daddy,” he wrote in the translated caption.
