Dolphins’ Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle make history with comeback win

Dolphins recipients Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle together made history on Sunday, becoming the first teammate in the Super Bowl era to hit each post over 170 meters and more than 2 touchdowns in the same game.

In just his second game against the Dolphins, Hill hit 190 yards and two touchdowns in 11 receptions, while Waddle finished with 171 yards and two touchdowns in 11 receptions.

Hill scored the winning goal at 60 yards to complete Miami’s 21-point comeback. Minutes later, with the Dolphins following 38-35, Waddle secured the game win.

Tua Tagovailoa made her own history in the win, setting the Dolphins record for most touchdown passes in a game with six.

Today’s strike is exactly what Mike McDaniel had in mind when Miami traded for Hill in March. Hill and Waddle account for 61.1% of Tagovailoa’s completions and 64% of his goals.

Hill raised his eyebrows when he called Tagovailoa was “the most accurate quarterback in the NFL” at the start of training camp, but he made an immediate connection with the third-year signal caller. Hill currently has 284 yards across two games.
