DL Hughley Reacts to Janet Jackson Interview
Recently, Janet Jackson sat down with Guardian for an interview in which she discussed Vice President Kamala Harris’s ethnicity. According to NBC NewsDuring the conversation, the pop icon said she had heard people claiming Vice President Harris was not black.
Through a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter), DL Hughley chose to inform Jackson about Vice President Harris’ background. The comedian began by suggesting that her statements were in reference to her support for Donald Trump.
In other posts, Hughley addressed Vice President Harris’s race, claiming that her mother is of Indian descent and her father is Jamaican.

The singer recently became popular on social media after commenting on Vice President Kamala Harris in an interview with The Guardian.
The award-winning musician responded to an interviewer’s claim that “America could be about to vote for its first black female president,” according to The Guardian.
Jackson then replied, “Oh, you know what they say? She’s not black. That’s what I heard. That she’s Indian.”
When a Guardian reporter clarified that Harris was of both black and South Asian descent, Jackson replied that she had received different information.
“That’s what I was told. I mean, I haven’t watched the news in a few days. I was told they found out her father was white,” Janet continued.
Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign has yet to respond to Janet Jackson’s remarks.
